HONNINGBARNA // ROKKEN
- 11OctStudenthuset Rokken
Honningbarna has been described as Norway's best live band and recently released what is already being hailed as one of the best albums of the year.
This fall, they are finally heading out on a nationwide tour in Norway.
The band from Southern Norway has been one of Scandinavia’s most influential acts for years—a position that has been both cemented and elevated through their recent releases and live performances.
In 2022, Honningbarna released the album Animorphs, which received unanimous praise from critics across the country, with descriptions such as “a masterpiece” and “one of the best punk records ever made in Norway.” The album earned them both a Spellemann Award and the Edvard Prize.
This year, they followed up with their seventh album, Soft Spot, and both critics’ ratings and audience reactions have surpassed even the triumph of their previous release. “One of the best albums of the year,” “electrifying,” “their best work to date,” and “the quality is absolutely mind-blowing” are just a few of the glowing reviews.
While the band has continuously evolved and refined their sound in the studio, an ever-growing audience has found its way to Honningbarna’s true home turf—their concerts.
Through chaotic and unpredictable shows, with a relentless focus on the unique connection that arises between them and the crowd, the band has earned a singular reputation as a live act—repeatedly described as the best in the country. This has resulted in a “Live Act of the Year” award at P3 Gull, packed venues on previous tours, and euphoric reviews. As when a reviewer from Bergens Tidende declared, “This was the best concert I’ve ever been to,” and Gaffa crowned them “the kings of Norway.”
Honningbarna’s first shows featuring their new music sold out venues in both Sweden and Denmark.
This fall, it’s Norway’s turn, as the band embarks on their first club tour in their home country in three years.
