Aiming for Enrike shows a new musical side with an ambient-like double single.

After touring the world and delivering one of the pandemic's most legendary live streams - complete with bodybuilders and smashing furniture in the old American embassy in Oslo, Aiming for Enrike started working on composing new music in 2020. The duo are now ready with their fifth album Empty Airports, but first parts 2 and 3 of the title track will be released. With an atmospheric and massive expression, they take the music further into a floating, minimalist, electronic and ambient landscape.

Empty Airports was composed and recorded in reflection of the quiet Covid19 life during the slow shutdown months of 2020 and 2021. Not only is this the duo's longest album ever, but it's also their first double album. The songs are inspired by and lies somewhere between Thom Yorke, Ashra, Nils Frahm, King Crimson in the 80s, Jon Hopkins and Steve Reich.

Guitarist Simen Følstad Nilsen says:
"Minimalism, which has always been an important part of our expression, is now cultivated to a much greater extent. Where in the past there has been a rush to fulfill musical expectations, parts should be given plenty of time to develop so that the music becomes more hypnotic and suggestive than before."

Empty Airports is another fantastic release from the forward-looking duo, which proves that Aiming for Enrike lives in its own universe.
